    Summary: Hoot & Learn collects NO personal information from anyone,
    including children. The app works entirely offline and stores progress data only
    on your own device.
  

1. What we collect

Nothing. Hoot & Learn does not collect, transmit, share, or store any personal information on any server. There are no user accounts and no registration.

The only data the app saves is stored locally on your device in the browser's localStorage:

Your child's game progress, best scores, and badges earned
Sticker and reward counts
Chosen language and age group
Accessibility preferences (font size, high-contrast)

This data never leaves your device. It is removed automatically when you uninstall the app or clear app data.

2. Children's privacy (COPPA)

Hoot & Learn is designed for children aged 2–12. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent regulations worldwide:

We do not collect any personal information from children under 13 (or under any age, for that matter).
We do not allow children to share personal information in the app.
There is no chat, social networking, or user-generated content.
There are no external links visible to children within games.
There is no behavioural advertising directed at children.
Parents do not need to provide consent for their child to use this app, because no data is collected.

3. Advertising and purchases

There are no advertisements of any kind in the app.
There are no in-app purchases. Hoot & Learn is a paid one-time download; all content is included.
There are no third-party advertising SDKs or networks.

4. Third-party services

The app uses no third-party services that collect data. In particular:

No analytics (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
No crash reporting services
No social media SDKs
No advertising networks
No remote configuration services

Google Fonts are bundled with the app and loaded locally — no requests are made to Google servers during use.

5. Internet connection

The app works completely offline after installation. No internet connection is required to play any game. The app makes no network requests during use.

6. Device permissions

Hoot & Learn does not request any sensitive device permissions. It does not access the camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, or any other sensitive data on your device.

7. Data security

Because all data is stored locally on your device and no data is transmitted to any server, there is no risk of a data breach involving your child's information.

8. Changes to this policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this policy and the app store listing. We are committed to never collecting personal information from users, especially children.
